Abaribe Vows to Block Tinubu’s 2027 Re election Bid, Says Hardship Has Galvanized Nigerians | #NwokeukwuMascot

The Senator representing
Abia South Senatorial District, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not secure a second term in the 2027 presidential election, insisting that the prevailing hardship across the country has strengthened public resolve to effect change.

Abaribe further claimed that President Tinubu did not genuinely win the 2023 presidential election, arguing that Nigerians merely accepted the outcome because he was officially declared the winner.

Speaking on Monday as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the Abia South lawmaker dismissed claims that Tinubu has never lost an election, stressing that no politician is invincible.

“I do not think so. Everybody loses elections, and you will see when the time comes. He will lose in 2027 because I know what Nigerians are feeling outside,” Abaribe said.

According to him, the economic hardship currently facing Nigerians has intensified public determination to prevent Tinubu from returning as president after 2027.

Abaribe maintained that while the opposition accepted Tinubu’s declaration as president in 2023, it does not amount to conceding victory in the true sense of the mandate.

“Tinubu never won the 2023 election, and everybody knows it. But we said fine, he has been declared the winner, no problem. We acknowledge him as president, but we are going to meet him in the field, and I will see how he is going to cobble together what will make him win again,” he stated.

The senator expressed confidence that the circumstances surrounding future elections would be different, noting that Nigerians are now more politically alert and prepared.

“It will not work because this time everybody will be ready. It will no longer be an announcement at 3 a.m. before people wake up in the morning. This time, people are ready, we are ready, and the masses are even more ready,” Abaribe added.

His comments come amid growing political tension and intense public debate, as opposition forces move to consolidate their ranks through a coalition under the African Democratic Party, with a clearly stated objective of unseating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
