The Chairman, House Committee on Public Service Matters, Abia State House of Assembly, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr., has condoled with the Ekeoba family of Umukabia, Okpuala Ohuhu, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, over the death and burial of their matriarch, Late Lolo Gold Chinomso Eleanya Ekeoba.
Late Ma Gold Ekeoba, who passed on at the age of 65, was laid to rest at her country home in Umukabia Ohuhu amid tears, prayers and glowing tributes from family members, friends and well-wishers.
In a condolence message signed by his spokesperson, George Egejuru, and made available to newsmen, Erondu Jnr., who represents Obingwa West State Constituency, commiserated with the bereaved family and thanked God for the impactful and fulfilled life of the deceased.
The former Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area urged the family not to grieve without hope, noting that the late matriarch lived a life of service to God and humanity and has gone to rest in the Lord.
Earlier, in a heartfelt tribute, the son of the deceased, High Chief Kingsley M. Ekeoba (popularly known as Escoba Smith), described his late mother as an industrious, disciplined and accomplished woman who successfully combined business pursuits with the responsibilities of caring for her husband and raising her children.
He said she was a generous and virtuous mother who deeply loved her children while firmly guiding them on the path of righteousness, adding that she was a devout Christian whose life was anchored on faith and service to God.
Chief Ekeoba assured that the family would continue to uphold and cherish the values that defined their mother’s life, pledging to immortalize her memory by living out the virtues she exemplified.
The burial ceremony attracted a large gathering of dignitaries, including the former Chief of Staff to the Imo State Governor, Chief Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, as well as political associates, friends and well-wishers from within and outside Abia State.
