In a powerful demonstration of unity and resolve, the Ukwa La Ngwa Socio-Cultural Group, representing nine of the seventeen local government areas of Abia State, paid a solidarity visit to Chief Obinna Oriaku (Ekwedike) at his country home in Owerrinta.

The visit, according to a statement released by the Ekwedike Media Team, was led by Elder Ogechi Chile. Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Elder Chile explained that the group came to identify with Chief Oriaku in the wake of recent political developments in Abuja, where his name was reportedly substituted despite having received Senate clearance. He described the development as deeply troubling but reaffirmed the group’s confidence in Oriaku’s leadership and political resilience.

The delegation expressed support for Oriaku, whom they described as a courageous and consistent voice of the opposition in Abia State. They commended his steadfast commitment to the ideals of justice, equity, and good governance, noting that his political journey continues to inspire hope across Ukwa La Ngwa land and beyond.

Members of the group offered prayers for God’s guidance, wisdom, and protection upon Chief Oriaku, expressing strong faith that the unfolding events are part of a greater divine plan for his life and political future. They further prayed for the restoration, unity, and strategic repositioning of Ukwa La Ngwa land, particularly in light of what they described as the current unpalatable political situation in Abia State.

The delegation also emphasized their collective determination to move past the disappointments of the 2023 general elections and channel their energies toward building a stronger, more inclusive, and promising political future ahead of 2027.

The solidarity visit was attended by notable leaders and stakeholders, including Dr. Chinatu Njoku, Dr. Ike Onyenweaku, Elder Sam Njoku, Elder Emeka Ahuruonye, Sir Peter Nwaokonko, Lady Nwanunu, Hon. Peter Aguomba, Hon. Barr. Chizuru Kanu, Hon. Barr. Henry Chilaka, Hon. Ihieyinna Mgbeahuru, Sir David Ezindu, Prince Chinedu Ugboaja, Nze Ahuruonye, Hon. Eze Nwanganga, Hon. Cherechi Nwogu, Hon. Dr. Ikechukwu Nwabeke, Hon. Barr. Okey Ogbonna, and Hon. Patrick Onwuka.
