Lawmaker Erondu Jnr Donates Dialysis Machines, Incubator, Others to Nenu Specialist Hospital | #NwokeukwuMascot

Speaking during the event at Nenu recently, Erondu Jnr commended the vision and commitment of former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Dr. Chris Alozie Akomas, who attracted the hospital project to the community while serving in office as the Deputy Governor, Abia state.
The former Chairman, Obingwa LGA noted that he personally supervised the project from inception, expressing joy that what began as a Primary Health Centre had grown into a Secondary and now a Tertiary health facility.
He described the transformation as a milestone in grassroots healthcare development.
Highlighting the urgent need for improved renal care services, Erondu Jnr observed that only two dialysis centres are functional in Abia State, adding that the dialysis centre at a major health facility in the state now operates irregularly.
He decried the rising cases of renal diseases, stressing that nearly every community in the state has patients battling kidney-related ailments and the heavy financial burden associated with treatment.
This, he said informed his decision to donate four dialysis machines to this facility to help humanity, to the glory of God.
The lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in Abia state House of Assembly also called on residents from across Abia State and beyond to take advantage of the upgraded facility at Nenu Specialist Hospital, Mgboko Umuanunu, assuring them of improved and accessible healthcare services.
Other items donated by the lawmaker include an operating table, four dialysis machines, an incubator for preterm babies, an oxygen concentrator, four vital signs monitors, two suction machines, hospital mattresses, and a modern ambulance.
5,000 isolation gowns, hand gloves of all sizes, 500 extraction hoses, 500 suction hoses, 100 thorax drainage tubes, 2,000 extraction catheters, sterile surgical gloves, and 20 hospital mattresses among others were also donated.
To enhance administrative efficiency, he also donated five desktop computers to digitalize hospital operations, as well as 10 units of 2024 model laptops for medical doctors.
He thanked Dr. Chris Alozie Akomas for his foundational role in establishing the hospital and prayed that the donated items would serve humanity effectively and bring glory to God.
Speaking at the occasion, former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Dr. Chris Alozie Akomas, expressed immense pride in the lawmaker’s commitment to the health and wellbeing of the people, commending his sense of responsibility and dedication to service.
“I am very, very proud of you” Dr. Akomas declared, offering prayers for God’s continued blessings upon Erondu Jnr.
He prayed God to continue to lift him from glory to glory in his future endeavours.
In her response, the Lead Medical Doctor at Nenu Specialist Hospital, Dr. Peace Anyaogu, described the donated items as modern, timely, and well-suited to address the growing healthcare needs of the people.
She expressed deep appreciation to Erondu Jnr for the generous gesture, describing it as a major boost to the institution’s operations.
The medical director prayed for God’s continued blessings, protection, and strength upon the lawmaker.
In their separate remarks, the President-General of Nenu Development Union, Ibe Ugwumba; Chairman of Nenu Consultative Assembly, Elder Innocent Ogbuehi; Chief Ibe Nwadioha; and the Secretary of the Nenu Consultative Assembly, Hon. Chinedu Ihesiulo, alongside other community leaders described the donation as a significant boost to the hospital’s capacity to provide specialized medical services, particularly in renal care and emergency response.
They prayed for God's preservation upon Erondu Jnr for greater service to humanity.
